- This makeover volition be full of applied, upkeep-friendly corrective updates.
Equally a reminder, here's a earlier photo of the bathroom. It's your standard half bath just off of our kitchen. It's functional simply leaves a lot to exist desired in the design department.
Modern Green Bathroom Design
I'm currently obsessed with moody walls (come across my navy entryway and navy bedroom). Just instead of my go-to navy, I decided to branch out to a night dark-green for the bathroom.
Those of you on Instagram helped me debate between several colors and we eventually landed on what I'd describe as a pure forest greenish. It is Rainforest Light-green by Behr and information technology is such a lovely, rich green.
Here are some of the design elements I've already gathered for the bathroom:
I'yard planning to bring in whites, blacks, geometric objects and some natural elements to complement that rich green on the walls. I'm still gathering items for the room, but the above photo gives you an idea of the direction I'm heading for this modern green bath makeover.
David'south challenge to me in this house is to incorporate more than bold color (I ever gravitate toward blues, grays, blacks and whites). So I'1000 also toying with the idea of incorporating some blazon of pink or coral as a popular of color, likely in the form of artwork. I actually want to paint the walls so I can go a feel for the room before I commit to whatever vivid pops of colour. Then nosotros will see what happens!
Here's the official blueprint board for the room:

Bathroom Makeover Checklist
GREEN Board AND Batten
This dark-green board and batten wall handling is my chief source of inspiration for our bathroom. I'one thousand going install a similar vertical board and crossbar wall treatment on the bottom 2/iii of the wall and paint the top portion a brilliant white.
UPGRADED TRIM
In add-on to calculation board and batten to the walls, I'one thousand going to install a taller baseboard like I recently did in our navy entry makeover.
I'm likewise going to trim out the window and add together new trim around the door frame – these will both be new projects for me and I'yard excited about their potential to actually upgrade the room! Plus, the tiny bath gives me a perfect opportunity to practice and experiment with window trim that I'd similar to somewhen carry through the balance of the house.
WHITE VANITY
I wrestled with a colour to pigment the vanity for a long time before deciding to go with a classic white. I actually wanted to try out a greige colour of some sort and retrieve it would look super good with dark green walls.
Just I'm a little nervous almost how nighttime this tiny bathroom is going to experience with nighttime walls so I recollect bringing in a lot of bright white to offset that nighttime light-green is the best choice. Plus, I'k a sucker for the high contrast of nighttime colors and bright white.
MIXED METALS
I've been drooling over blackness hardware for and so long now that I knew I needed to utilize it in our bathroom. Y'all'll encounter the super pretty geometric knobs and pulls in my blueprint board.
I'm as well going to mix in some polished chrome hardware. Right at present I take a polished chrome towel ring and toilet paper holder and am shopping for a light fixture that will likely be polished chrome as well.
UPGRADED FIXTURES
I took down the frameless mirror and builder bones vanity light this week and am currently shopping for a new mirror and lite fixture. Since this room is and then modest, those ii items volition brand a huge bear upon so I've been on the hunt for something I beloved.
Exist sure you're post-obit me on Instagram so you can vote for your favorite options before I make my final selections!
STENCILED Flooring
I'm not going to commit to this until I start seeing the room come together, but I'm highly considering stenciling the linoleum floor. I think it would add a fun affect to the room and, I'll exist honest, I've always wanted to requite information technology a try! This will be the project that gets scrapped if I run out of time though.
DOOR MAKEOVER
I also actually promise to have time to give the bathroom door a makeover, something like to the doors I painted black in our concluding house. I might endeavor a unlike style of trim for this business firm, but that's to be determined!
I'll meet you lot back here each calendar week with progress updates on our modern green bathroom makeover. Stay tuned for next Wednesday, when I'll accept painted walls to share with y'all!
